Kathmandu: The barbed wire fence at Tribhuvan University cricket ground has been demolished.
The fence to prevent outsiders from entering the field has been demolished. Chumbi Lama, spokesperson of Nepal Cricket Association CAN informed that the fence has been demolished to increase the boundary.

As the matches will not be held at the University cricket ground due to the summer season, the cricket association has now started the work of upgrading the ground.
The pitch upgradation work has already been completed and the construction of the building for the digital score board is also underway.
The first floor of the building built to house the digital score board has been sloped, while the second floor has been put in the form to be sloped.
The estimated cost of making a digital score board was 72 million rupees, which was fixed by the National Sports Council. The contract for the building work has been awarded to Panchkanya Himalaya JV.

A new pitch has also been made in the net of the Trivi Maidan. For that, stones and sand have been put in the pit of the pitch.
Curator Mohammad Abdul Al Mamun, who built Moolpani Cricket Ground last year with the help of Bangladesh Cricket Board, has worked on the pitch in the net.
Apart from this, the cricket association is also preparing to upgrade the side screen. Lama said that now and then a long-term solution is being sought for the side screen being blown down by the wind.
There is a plan to fix the sidescreen later. We are moving it back and making it operable so that it cannot be live’, he said.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced the commitment to upgrade the cricket ground of the University in 300 days in the first cabinet decision. The tone of work according to his commitment has not been seen yet.

Even the sports fans who are waiting for the night games in the ground have been disappointed when the floodlight contract has been canceled several times.
In October last year, Rakhep awarded the contract to MSIPL ASC Power JV for the installation of flood lights at a cost of Rs 274 million 2022.
However, the contract was canceled after the other four companies who applied filed a case in the Patan High Court saying that they failed on purpose.

Rakhep invited bids for flood lights on Chait 11 with an estimated cost of 826.1 million. Until last week, when five companies submitted applications, Rakhep could not decide.
