Rohit Sharma Breaks Records with Century as India Triumphs Over Afghanistan in World Cup

24 October, Kathmandu. Captain Rohit Sharma‘s record performance in World Cup Cricket has given India a resounding victory over Afghanistan. The target of 273 runs for the victory in Delhi was met by the home team India with the loss of 2 wickets with 15 overs remaining.

While winning India by 8 wickets, Captain Sharma made the record for most centuries in World Cup cricket. He completed 100 runs in 63 balls and was dismissed after scoring 131 runs. This is Rohit’s 31st ODI century and seventh century in World Cup cricket. Along with this, he broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar in the World Cup. India’s Sachin scored 6 centuries in the World Cup.

Similarly, in the match against Afghanistan, Virat Kohli was not out for 55 runs. Opener Ishan Kisan was dismissed for 47 runs.

Earlier, Afghanistan, who batted first, scored 272 runs losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. For him, Hasmatullah Shahidi scored 80 runs and Azmatullah Omarzai scored 62 runs.
