Government Urges Responsible Social Media Use
The government has urged everyone not to engage in activities that promote discrimination or hatred based on caste, ethnicity, or religion. In a meeting held on Tuesday, the Cabinet also urged social media users to refrain from spreading religious and sectarian hatred.
“In the context of ensuring positive and regulated use of social media to respect the fundamental right to freedom of thought and expression as enshrined in the constitution, the government appeals to all stakeholders not to engage in activities that have adverse effects on Nepal’s national sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security, national unity, independence, self-esteem, or any other aspect of national interest or federal unity on the basis of class, caste, religious, regional, sectarian, and similar grounds,” said government spokesperson Rekha Sharma.
Similarly, the government has proposed targeting the festival of Dashain to operate value-added stores across the country.
These are some of the decisions made by the Cabinet:
- To approve the Special Court Rules, 2080.
- To present the Construction Materials (Management and Regulation) Bill, 2080, in the federal parliament.
- To present the bill related to the management of the Shree Dasarath Chand Health Science University in the federal parliament.
Special Provisions:
