Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa) President Ravi Lamichhane has expressed the need for changes in voting during the upcoming elections.
During a program held in Ilam on Thursday, he mentioned that due to the repeated changing of party affiliations by existing leaders, voters’ preferences should be changed as well.
He emphasized that those who have entered politics recently and have gained the trust of the people should be given an opportunity to prove themselves.
Lamichhane stated, “These individuals change their appearance, but their intentions remain unchanged. They won’t admit to their actions, but they will try to make us look bad. Be cautious not to fall into their deception.
You have come to understand this from visiting your homes. Don’t be deceived. It’s time to make a final decision, to decide if you’re with us or against us.”
Continuing, he said, “Living abroad, their children are not in our country. They seek loans for foreign trips and their fathers claim to be in search of loans.
Is there any more room for them to bend? Lampi skin has died at home like livestock. They won’t look for vaccines, they won’t use insurance money, and they are now joining their hands to beg. Is there still any trust left and now?”
He explained that Raswapa is not saddened by the present situation. He mentioned that Raswapa is tied to the country’s future and clarified that they are not involved in this journey for a movement.
“We are not scared of anyone, nor do we have any greed. Now you must be scared. In this journey, you won’t find a drop of your blood, that’s my guarantee. If you get wounded somewhere and cry out, it’s another matter. Rest assured, I guarantee that there will be no uprising or downfall by my hand.”
Although his voice was somewhat shaky, he reiterated his request. He claimed that by being committed to politics and leaving all other jobs aside, he has the right to demand the same from others.
“My voice might shake, but this is not an attempt to deceive. You only need to change the voting system, nothing else,” he said.
“You have suffered. In politics, there are two types of people. Some enter politics after not finding any other job, while we have left all other jobs and entered politics. We’ve left everything behind. Provide us with opportunities.”
