A group involved in deceiving Nepali citizens by falsely promising to send them to the United States as Bhutanese refugees and swindling over 18 individuals out of more than NPR 18.5 million has been reported by the victims to the Crime Investigation Bureau in Kathmandu.

The victims revealed their ordeal to the authorities and provided information that the crime was perpetrated under the pretense of facilitating various Nepali citizens from different districts such as Lamjung, Sunsari, Sindhupalchowk, Gorkha, Lalitpur, Chitwan, and Kathmandu to be resettled as Bhutanese refugees in the United States. The victims explained that they were lured and manipulated through various forms of temptation and trust by Sanu Bhandari, Keshav Dulal, and others under the guise of collective efforts.

A total of 18 affected individuals have submitted formal complaints, including three separate sets of fake application documents. The required documents have been sent to the District Police Office for necessary investigation and legal action.
