Anup Kafla from Ramapur, Palpa, is one such musician who has been immersed in the world of music from a young age.
At the age of 15 Anup has developed a special affinity for musical instruments. After returning from school.
He engages in household chores and then plays various melodies on his instruments to learn new rhythms. For the past four years. Anup has been spending his days like this, dedicated to his musical pursuits.
His home is filled with the enchanting melodies of various instruments.
For Anup music is not just a hobby it is a passion that he cannot live without. He finds joy in learning and practicing different rhythms and takes pride in teaching his friends and family to play instruments.
He believes that there is enough musical equipment at home, which allows him to indulge in his musical interests. When he is not practicing he enjoys playing with his school friends who come over to his house. He loves sharing his knowledge and teaching them about music.
Influenced by the musical performances in the village temple and religious ceremonies Anup began his musical journey by learning to play instruments like Sarangi Tabla, Dholak, Harmonium and Octopad.
Now he actively participates in events like Mahayagya Bhajankirtan and other religious functions contributing his skills in musical accompaniment.
After playing various regional instruments the feeling of joy is palpable for Anup and his friends when they play together at home.
Anup also understands the importance of financial support for his musical passion. The money earned from participating in religious functions and events is utilized to purchase the necessary materials for his musical performances.
He is also focused on becoming a skilled musician in the future and aims to pursue music and Sanskrit education after completing his high school education with the support of his parents.
Similar to Anup, Shourabh Babu Ghimire from Ramapur has also developed an interest in music over the past three years.
He learned to play the Madal from his uncle and older brother when he was just fourteen. Shourabh is passionate about playing the Madal, keyboard and guitar. During his free time, he hones his skills by playing melodies on these instruments.
Both Anup and Shourabh believe that music should not be limited to just playing instruments.
They utilize the internet and other resources to gain knowledge about music theory, which helps them enhance their performances.
While Anup focuses on mastering the octopad, harmonium, and other instruments Shourabh finds immense pleasure in playing with various rhythms on his Madal.
Anup acknowledges the support he receives from his family in purchasing the necessary materials for his musical pursuits.
He is also eager to establish music classes within the local community school to cater to the demands of young children and adolescents who are interested in learning music.
He believes that music is an integral part of human life, capable of providing solace and healing in times of joy and sorrow.
