Hurricane Beryl has disrupted life in the US state of Texas. More than one million people in nearly two and a half million homes in Texas have been without electricity since yesterday, according to Reuters.
Storm Beryl broke down trees and electricity poles, causing disruption of electricity services in many places. Texas’ largest electricity provider, Centerpoint Energy, said 860,000 of its customers were affected. More than 1.4 million customers have been reconnected with lost electricity.
Houston was also affected by the storm. Locals have said that when the temperature rises above 38 degrees Celsius, there is a lot of problem when the electricity is turned off. Meteorologists at Colorado State University have predicted six more major storms.
