Kathmandu: The debate has started on the appeal filed by cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane in Patan High Court against the judgment of Kathmandu District Court. On Tuesday, the hearing of the case before the joint bench of Justice Sudarshandev Bhatt and Anju Upreti Dhakal was not completed. The same bench continued the hearing today.
It is likely that the decision will be made today after the arguments of both sides are over. A certain time has been fixed for both sides to discuss the case. Lawyers from Sandeep and Gaushala 26 who are yet to be debated will be debated today.
The demand that Lamichhane should be sent to play in the World Cup if he is guilty and sent to play in the World Cup while hearing the appeal given by Lamichhane after appearing again and again.
Earlier, the district court had ruled that the victim Gaushala 26 was 18 years old. Although the victim’s age was 18 years, Sandeep pleaded guilty for having sexual relations without consent. Lamichhane filed an appeal in the High Court on February 20. He has claimed that he is innocent in the rape case.
The district court of Kathmandu sentenced Lamichhane to 8 years imprisonment in the case of coercion.
