On the 14th of Asar (a month in the Nepali calendar), a stolen talakne shila (a sacred stone) was recovered from a house in Ward No. 7 of Gorakha Municipality, located in Satipipal. Various organizations in Gorakha have demanded that the recovered shila be placed in the sacred religious sites of Gorakhkali and Gorakhnath, including the Guru Gorakshadham Siddhashram Kendra, as it is considered a holy religious place.
Dinesh Dani, who is associated with the Guru Gorakshadham Siddhashram Kendra, stated that they have submitted a request to the District Administration Office to place the sacred stone in the holy premises of Gorakhkali and Gorakhnath, along with other organizations within the district, all expressing their desire to keep the approximately 54 kilograms talakne shila in Gorakha instead of taking it outside the district.
On Thursday, various organizations, more than eight in number, met with the Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal in his office and discussed the matter, presenting him with a letter of request.
The recovered talakne shila had been previously used for worship and religious purposes and was seized by the District Police Office. Information Officer, Police Deputy Inspector Ramesh Kumar Shrestha, stated that “The talakne shila was found in a house, and now it will be returned to its rightful place after due legal processes.”
